Past Efforts

Here are some of the charitable efforts and contributions the CT REALTORS® Foundation has accomplished thanks to the generous support of our REALTOR® members and family.

  • Our 6th annual Shelter Drive (March 2024) was a big success thanks to the generosity of CTR’s Board of Directors! Housing and food insecurity are growing problems being faced by many in communities across our State. We were happy to collect much-needed items and $691 in monetary donations for two local shelters: The Cornerstone Foundation that operates 3 shelters, a community kitchen, food pantry and clothing bank along with Spooner House shelter and its Valley Food Bank operations.  We are so grateful to all who donated!

  • Our 8th annual “be homeful for the holidays” campaign (December 2023) in partnership with the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness turned out to be another successful year!  We raised just over $43,500 to help prevent family homelessness and the Foundation provided Paddington plush bears (800+), backpacks (600+) and books (200+) to 33 shelters/homeless organizations across Connecticut for children there for the holidays and throughout the year.  All funds raised are used to provide emergency assistance to keep families in their homes and from entering a shelter.  As usual, it takes a village – we could not do this without the support of so many including our members/donors, firms, local Boards/Associations and Daley Moving & Storage who donate their time/service to assist with the delivery of gifts every year.  You can visit the Foundation Facebook page (link) to see pictures from this year’s shelter deliveries.

  • Another successful Dog Days of Summer campaign is in the books!  Our 8th annual (2023) campaign raised $4,088 which will be split between No Animal Left Unfed and the Stamford Animal Control Alliance. Once again the campaign kicked off with CTR Directors donating pet food/supplies at their June meeting that each organization also received.  Huge thanks to all who donated!!

  • Thank you to those who donated to the Raymond F. Gates, Jr. Memorial Scholarship fund via the Travelers Championship “Birdies for Charity” program this year (2023)! The Foundation raised $5,540 which generated $831 in a free matching donation from Birdies for Charity for a grand total of $6,371. Every dollar raised will go directly towards scholarships awarded next year.

  • 59 Raymond F. Gates, Jr. Memorial scholarships totaling $58,000 were awarded in 2023. Check out the scholarship winners.

  • At the May 15, 2023 CT REALTORS® “Riding with the Brand” event, a drive was held for Hands on Hartford’s Backpack Nutrition Program. This program provides backpacks filled with meals, drinks and snacks every Friday to Hartford area school children who receive free lunch at school during the week, but struggle to find enough to eat on the weekends. Attendees very generously donated 330 pounds of food donations and over $1,200 in monetary donations.  REALTORS® truly are some of the most generous people on the planet!

  • At the March 2023 CT REALTORS Board of Directors meeting, the Foundation held a drive to benefit two local shelters - The Women & Families Center in Meriden (Robyn's/WYSH houses for homeless youths) and The Center for Empowerment and Education in Danbury (Patricia House domestic violence shelter).  As usual, BOD members came through with a MOUNTAIN of donated items along with $493 that will be split between the two organizations.

  • At the CTR Leadership Summit in February 2023, local Board/Association and State leadership attendees donated 1,814 diapers, 130 pull ups, 622 tampons, 845 pads, 384 wipes, diaper rash cream and $151 to benefit The Diaper Bank of Connecticut…showing one more example of how CT REALTORS Care and are invested in their communities and our State..

  • The CT REALTORS Hometown Heroes annual grant program provides immediate mortgage, rent, property tax or other housing-related expense relief to those who exemplify extraordinary service to the communities where we live and work.  We are honored to launch this program by honoring the families of slain Bristol Police officers, Lt. Demonte and Sgt. Hamzy, as well as injured Officer Iurato. Read the full press release.
